Our story
2003 - 2023
The Experience Years
Our story starts on the frontlines. For two decades, we were part of some of the country’s biggest projects, from the red dirt of the Pilbara to the ports and cities on the east coast. We worked inside Wesfarmers, Worley, Rio Tinto, BHP, Fortescue, Aurecon, Caterpillar, and Downer.

Those years taught us not just how to deliver, but how to listen and understand what really drives a project forward. Through experience, not theory.

2023
A New Perspective
In 2023, everything shifted. While studying for an MBA at the AGSM, we found ourselves surrounded by sharp minds and new perspectives. Every conversation opened our eyes to the bigger picture. We realised our experience in projects could have an even greater impact if we focused on building something different—something that made a difference for both business and society.
Late 2023
Murri was born
When it came time to give this vision a name, the answer was clear. Murri means Aboriginal person, especially from south and central Queensland. As a proudly Aboriginal-founded business, choosing Murri felt like coming home.
Early 2024
Laying the Groundwork
From the very start, we wanted Murri Group to be more than a consultancy.

In early 2024, we began shaping Murri Impact, a not-for-profit arm dedicated to supporting Indigenous communities wherever our work takes us. This commitment is woven through every part of our business, from how we build teams to the way we reinvest profits.
Late 2024
Turning Vision Into Action
By late 2024, Murri Group was official. We reached out to industry leaders and showed them there was a better way—one built on trust, delivery, and real engagement with community.

The response was immediate. Companies wanted help not just with projects, but with how they connect, include, and grow with First Nations people.
